Giving Back This Giving Tuesday

Giving a little helps a lot.

On Giving Tuesday, people all around the world do their part to give back! This year, we’re asking for your support to help us protect and conserve the natural resources of our community. Your donations will help us to:

  • Restore native habitats
  • Purchase native seeds and plants
  • Educate the public on the importance of conservation

The Macon County Conservation District is fortunate to have staff who are passionate about what we do here and love getting to educate and inform the public on what it is that we do, and why conservation is so important. Whether that’s through our natural restoration practices, or through our environmental education programs. Over the years, we have seen thousands of children and families come through the doors of our nature center, attend our summer camps, sit in at library programs, and enjoy our special events. It’s our hope that these programs, field trips, events, and camps spark that life-long love of nature in the children who pass through our doors, and that they continue that love for our wild spaces and go on to become tomorrow’s conversationalists and environmental educators. We hear from many people who remember growing up in our summer camps and they look back on those days fondly. For some, it was what led them to careers in biology, forestry, natural resources, or environmental education. If you have ever had such an experience at one of our programs, events, or camps, or if you just enjoy coming out to our conservation areas and spending time in nature, please consider a small donation to help future children and families create the same memories and experiences here at the Macon County Conservation District.

Every gift, big or small, makes a difference. Please consider donating today and help us to create a brighter future for our environment.
