Homeschool Programs Returning for Fall at Macon County Conservation District
As the leaves start to turn and a crispness fills the air, it’s the perfect time for homeschool children to delve into nature and history with Macon County Conservation District’s fall homeschool programs. Designed for ages 5-15, these programs offer an engaging blend of discussion, hands-on activities, crafts, and games led by our knowledgeable naturalists. Students will have the opportunity to explore both indoor and outdoor environments, fostering a deeper connection with the natural world. Each session costs $15 per child, and registration is available online by the specified dates.
The Power of Pollinators
Date: Wednesday, September 11, 10am-12pm

Pollinators are essential to our ecosystem, and this program will help homeschool students understand their vital role. Through interactive activities and outdoor exploration, children will learn to identify various pollinators and discover how these small creatures contribute to the health of our environment. Fall Colors
Date: Wednesday, October 9, 10am-12pm

Participants will engage in hands-on activities and outdoor exploration to learn about the science behind this beautiful phenomenon and its significance in nature.
Rocks and Minerals
Date: Wednesday, November 13, 10am-12pm

The Earth beneath our feet holds many secrets, and our Rocks and Minerals program is designed to uncover some of them. Homeschool students will learn about the different types of rocks and their formation processes. With real examples to examine and tests to conduct, participants will gain hands-on experience with geology before heading outdoors to apply their new knowledge.
