Prairie Pedal is a fundraising event for Macon County Conservation Foundation. All proceeds support the air and water quality, natural areas, and wildlife diversity of Macon County.

Whether you are interested in increasing your mileage, going for a bike ride with the entire family, getting in shape, or supporting a great cause, Prairie Pedal is a perfect event to pencil in your calendar this fall, Sunday October 3rd, 2010.
Enjoy the 62 mile, 40 mile, 15 mile, or Family Fun Ride to Kiwanis Park. Ride through the quiet roads of Macon County countryside and have a chance to discover the vibrant prairie grasses, wildflowers, and diverse wildlife as we ride for restoration! After the ride join the Macon County Conservation Foundation in an after party with chili (vegetarian option), an assortment of refreshments, entertainment by
Eric Burgett, and raffle prizes!

Schedule of Events
Onsite registration will be at Rock Springs Conservation Area from 7:00 a.m. - 10: 00 a.m. Come early to enjoy complimentary coffee and breakfast to fuel up before the ride. All rides begin and end at Rock Springs Conservation Area. 3939 Nearing Lane Decatur, IL 62522
Starting Times:
- 7:00-9:00am for 40 mile & 62 mile ride
- 7:00-10:00am for 15 mile ride
- 8:00-10:00am for Family Ride to Kiwanis Park (Family Fun Ride will stop at Kiwanis Park for snacks, games, crafts, and interactive learning opportunities with naturalists from Macon County Conservation District!)
Fully-stocked rest stops with friendly volunteers, cold water, and tasty snacks will be available at the following sites.
*** All riders must be finished by 1:00 pm
Post ride party including lunch, entertainment by
Eric Burgett, and raffle prizes begins at 10:30 am.
Not a rider? Join us for only $5
Safety
Radio-equipped SAG support will be available to help riders needing assistance. Priority will be given to riders in emergency situations—illness, injury, or irreparable breakdowns. SAG support stops at 1:00pm
- Know and obey traffic laws (we will be on public roads)
- Use a helmet—it is required!
- Ride within your own ability and physical condition
- Carry personal identification
- Make sure your equipment is in good condition
- Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the ride
