Marketing Specialist
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for all marketing and promotional activites for the Macon County Conservation District and the Macon County Conservation Foundation. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Marketing Specialist creates and implements a comprehensive marketing strategy to expand awareness of the conservation district and its foundation and programs. This position manages all components of the marketing plan including: print media; the conservation district newsletters, brochures, press releases; website; media interviews; and social media.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or related field. Successful experience in managing and tracking multiple projects. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in the use of computers.

Summer Camp Counselor
The Macon County Conservation District is accepting applications for Summer Camp Counselors.
Summer Camp Counselor assists with planning, developing, coordination and facilitation of summer camp programs. In addition, a counselor may assist with programming for youth and adult groups as well as the general public. Schedule may include some evenings and weekends.

Wage: starting at $8.50/hr
Hours: 25 to 30 hours/week depending on position

End Date: variable – July 26 to August 2
Duties: Assist with planning, development, coordination and facilitation of summer camp programs. Also assist with programming for youth and adult groups as well as the general public. Specific duties are dependent on camp assignment. Participants in camps range from toddlers through 16 years of age.
Camp assignments: Several different camps are offered. Most camps meet at the Rock Springs Conservation Area, but some meet at other sites or consist of off-site field trips. The camps include Earth Adventures Day Camp, Nature Discovery Camp, Fort Daniel/Friends Creek Outdoor Adventure Camps, X-treme Camps, Mini Camps, Art Camps, Buddy Camps, and Camp Connections. Summer Camp Counselors may be assigned to work with more than one camp.
Schedule: Schedule may include some evenings and weekends. Approximately 25 to 30 hours weekly depending on camp assignment.
Qualifications: Minimum age 18, high school diploma or GED and a valid Illinois driver’s license. Applicant must have the ability to work with children in the outdoors and public speaking ability. Some college recommended.
