Green Tip #2
Home Energy Audits
Is your power bill getting you down? Conduct a home energy audit. A home energy audit will enable you to evaluate measures you can take to make your home more energy efficient. By correcting problems revealed in an energy audit, you may be able to save significant amounts of money and reduce your home’s energy consumption. You can start by tackling the easiest or least expensive projects first. Caulking air leaks around window and door frames and using more efficient lighting can make a world of difference.
You can learn more about energy audits and how to conduct your own by visiting the
U. S. Department of Energy website.
Additional information is available on the Energy Star website. Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. The goal of this program is to help us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
