Ft. Daniel Nature Discovery Camp
- for youth ages 6 - 12 years

Nature Discovery Camp will get your children out in nature with hikes, activities, games, and more!

Campers will experience outdoor fun while they learn through activities, hikes, free play, arts and crafts, and more! This week long camp meets Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to noon.

This week-long camp meets in the summer at Fort Daniel Conservation Area.

Theme: A Trip Through Time

Day 1 – Lost World Come dig up some cool facts on dinosaurs with us! We’ll learn interesting things about these ancient creatures as we start our week off with a roaring good time. Fee $10, reservations required. Meets at Fort Daniel Conservation Area. 9:00 a.m. – noon, July 30th

Day 2 – Frozen Wonders Did you know that we had ground sloths the size of cars here? Well we did! Imagine Illinois as a frozen tundra and uncover facts about our ice age animals! Fee $10, reservations required. Meets at Fort Daniel Conservation Area. 9:00 a.m. – noon, July 31st

Day 3 – The First Americans Have you ever wondered what it might be like to live in a wigwam? It sure wasn’t like camping today! We will learn about Native American history! Fee $10, reservations required. Meets at Fort Daniel Conservation Area. 9:00 a.m. – noon, August 1st

Day 4 – Wagon Trail Gee-up! Hya, hya! Let’s load the wagons and head out on the trail! We’ll track down some facts about pioneer life. Fee $10, reservations required. Meets at Fort Daniel Conservation Area. 9:00 a.m. – noon, August 2nd

Day 5 – Pollution Solutions To cap off our week of time travel we’ll come back to modern times to discover what we can do to help our environment be just as amazing for future generations! Fee $10, reservations required. Meets at Fort Daniel Conservation Area. 9:00 a.m. – noon, August 3rd
