Leaving a Legacy with the Macon County Conservation Foundation

The Macon County Conservation Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of natural and cultural resources and educational opportunities for the people of Macon County.

Its purpose is to: preserve and maintain wild lands, open spaces and other natural or scenic resources within Macon County; preserve and protect native plants and animals, geological features, historical sites and other areas of educational and scientific interest; and support the preservation and educational purposes by raising funds through campaigns, bequests, planned gifts, memorials, and annual giving.

The Macon County Conservation Foundation, originally the Natural Heritage and Wildlife Foundation, was founded in 1981 as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent of the law.

Want to sponsor the Rock Springs Nature Center animals?

A unique way to support environmental education at Rock Springs Nature Center is to become an Animal Care Partner. You'll learn more about your flying, swimming, crawling or slithering creature from special materials we send. We encourage you to visit your animal at the nature center to see the rewards of your efforts.

To support an animal for one year, select your favorite and send in your donation. Animal care includes food, supplies, cleaning of the aquarium, and medical care. We'll send you a certificate, information about your animal and an invitation to a Wildlife Partners event. We hope you will join the growing group of people who are supporting our animals.
